Superintendent’s Letter to Parents

 

Good evening, Camden County Schools families. I know the last few weeks have been challenging in many ways for you and us. It is my sincere hope that all of our students are continuing to learn and that everyone in your family is safe and healthy. I know that many of you have been participating in our food service program and we are happy to provide that service to all of our families regardless of financial need. The purpose of my message this evening is to let you know that Camden County Schools will be observing the original spring break that has been in our calendar all school year starting at 4:30PM on Thursday, April 9th and all buildings will be closed. We will reopen on Monday, April 20th at 7:30AM. Food service will be suspended during the break and teachers and other educators will not be available for remote learning. I hope that you enjoy your break and we look forward to serving you again starting April 20th.

Additionally, I know that you still have so many questions about the remainder of the school year, grades, prom, graduation, promotion to the next grade level, high school course credit, and so on. We do not have guidance on many of these items at this time, but please know that we will communicate with you as soon as we do have information. Individual schools are continuing to communicate school specific information and I ask that you continue to pay close attention to those announcements. Thank you for your patience as we seek answers to these questions as well. Remote learning will continue after break and we will work to do our best to engage every student and be as flexible as possible by recognizing individual circumstances. However, for the continued safety of Camden County Schools students, staff, and families we will be in touch soon to provide further direction on how schools will move forward with regards to the collection and distribution of work packets.
