Camden County Schools

We were recently made aware of a potential threat against schools with a Camden reference. We have been in communication with the Camden County Sheriff's Department, and at this time, we have no evidence that it is a credible threat, or even a reference to Camden County Schools in North Carolina. The safety of our students and staff is a priority of Camden County Schools. We are thankful for students and families who support our school system and inform us when they see or hear anything that could potentially impact schools. We encourage you to continue to be vigilant and to communicate any concerns.

The Camden County Board of Education will have its regular meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Camden County Public Library for various purposes. The Board will hold a closed session at 6:00 p.m. to discuss one or more confidential personnel matters, as allowed by NCGS 143-318.11(a)(1),(3), and (6). The closed session will be followed by an open session at 7:00 p.m. The open session is open to the public in accordance with the North Carolina Open Meetings law. Game Day Update The Football game Camden vs Perquimans has been updated. The game will be played on Thursday, August 29th at 6:30pm at Home. Tickets are $8.00 Please wear your best Red, White and Blue to support our BRUINS.

The Camden Board of Education will hold a Special Called meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2024 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Camden County Library Meeting Room. The purpose of the meeting is 1) to hold a closed session to discuss one or more confidential personnel matters as allowed by N.C.G.S. 143-318.11 (a)(6) and to consult with the Board Attorney regarding matters protected by the attorney/client privilege and to preserve that privilege as allowed by N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); 2) to consider the qualifications for potential firms to serve as a construction manager at risk for the High School construction project; 3) to take action in open session to select a construction manager at risk for the high school building project; and 4) to take personnel actions in open session following the closed session."

Due to potential flooding, any Camden County Schools staff that lives in an area of concern and/or experiences flooding may work with their direct supervisor about reporting to the building on Friday, August 9th.

Middle School Baking begins June 24th, still a few seats available; High School Baking Camp July 8th and Middle School Interior Design the week of July 22nd with Mrs. Parrish! NEWS RELEASE March 18, 2024 The Camden County Board of Education will hold a budget work session at the Board of Education building (174 NC Hwy 343-North, Camden, NC 27921) on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, beginning at 4 p.m. The board may also go into closed session to discuss one or more confidential personnel matters, as allowed by NCGS 143-318.11(a)(6) following the work session. There will not be a public comment segment during the work session, nor will the meeting be livestreamed.

Their incredible commitment to ensuring the safety of our students during their journeys to and from school deserves recognition.
